MLE Passers Pledge as Professional Midwives: RCYC Extends a Hand

One hundred eight new midwives celebrated the 3rd oath taking and induction ceremony conducted by the Integrated Midwives Association of the Philippines (IMAP) - CSPC chapter and the faculty of College of Health Care Technology (CHCT) last June 28, 2011 at the CSPC- College Auditorium, Nabua, Camarines Sur.

The guest speaker was Dr. Alejandro R. San Pedro, Chairman of the Board of Midwifery who imparted his precious experience towards becoming a successful medical birth attendant on his message during the event.


Dr. Elenita L. Tan, Region V Director of the Profession and Regulation Commission and Dr. San Pedro as part of the program awarded the Certificates of Recognition to the Midwifery Licensure Examinations 2011 Topnotchers; Glaiza Mae Dagarat, 10th placer; Sarah T. Parais and Louella Mae T. Coralde, 6th placers; Benjoe N. Agbay, 5th placer; Luzviminda Q. Tiaba, 2nd placer and Saniyah S. Hakeem Shaikh Rasool, 1st placer who also lead the Midwife’s pledge during the said event.

Followed by the awarding rites are the Induction of IMAP officers and members of the CSPC and USANT (University of Saint Anthony) chapter.  They were presented by the Principal of the University of Saint Anthony.

The ceremony was participated by invited midwifery board passers from USANT, NCF (Naga College Foundation), CSSC (Camarines Sur State College) and 78 midwifery graduates and passers of the CSPC having the purpose of adhering on the ethical and moral obligations and responsibilities a professional midwife must meet.

Together with the other organizations, RCYC as requested, extended their assistance in the preparation of the event. The RCY council was in-charged in the Hall Preparation and the aftercare of the event. Prior to the event, RCYC also helped in organizing and sorting the invitations which was distributed upon the entrance of the participants.
